Mix check: does this translate on phone speakers?
Referenced it against three commercial tracks and it sounds close on headphones, but on my laptop the vocal disappears. Anyone hear the same?

Try carving 60-80 Hz on whichever one is less important in that section. Usually the kick wins in the chorus.
